Sacramento Jewish Academy
Ages 5-12

The Chabad Hebrew School is an innovative school that provides an academic and enjoyable environment where children acquire a broad knowledge of Judaism through a stimulating and challenging venue. Through Hebrew reading, writing, Jewish history, holidays and more, our students gain an appreciation for the joys, values and traditions of our heritage as it is vividly brought to life by our dedicated and enthusiastic teachers whose creativity and dynamism make every lesson a unique learning experience. Our program includes the "Jewish Hero Series," a fun action-packed card collection series, in which the children gain opportunity to learn about our heroes and how they can be role models for us today.

A child equipped with a Torah education and a feeling for Judaism’s beautiful teachings, traditions, and historical lessons, is a child better equipped to face the awesome moral challenges of today’s society.

Our school’s underlying approach is for the children to enjoy the time spent at Hebrew School so that they are left with positive experiences and a greater appreciation for Jewish education. Our program is thus carefully blended with games, incentives, crafts, dramatics, family celebrations and other exciting extra curricular activities.

Wrapping Hannukah gifts for hospitalized children

Ages 11-12

Many people think a Bat Mitzvah is just a Bar Mitzvah for girls. No Way! A Jewish girl possesses a unique identity, which she shares with all Jewish women from around the glove and throughout 3,000 years of history. Becoming Bat Mitzvah means more than a beautiful party. It’s the beginning of a lifelong process of doing more – more learning, more feeling, more thinking, and more being you.
We meet the first Monday of every month, from 7:15-8:15 at the home of Rebbetzin Dinie Cohen, beginning Sept. 22nd, 2003

The Bat Mitzvah Club brings girls together, and helps Bat Mitzvah girls of today grow into Jewish women of tomorrow. Through interesting learning and fun activities, you will make new discoveries about yourself and the meaning of Bat Mitzvah. The Bat Mitzvah Club is an organization for girls, by girls, starring girls. You arrange the activities and schedules, and you run the meeting by holding positions such as master of ceremonies, hostess, speaker, song leader, treasurer and photographer.

Club members meet monthly, enjoy special trips, make crafts and projects, explore creative reading and writing, take part in discussions, join a pen pal program and have a great time. Members can also earn club merits by reporting meaningful actions they perform. With enough club merits you can earn jewelry and other great prizes.

When you become a member, you are building a future for a Jewish tomorrow. Your personal progress and good achievements will change you and the world around you. In the Bat Mitzvah Club you will experience ever-growing knowledge and pride in being Jewish, female and a new adult. Joining any club involves choice, but you can be sure that joining the Bat Mitzvah Club is the right choice.

Registration for Bat Mitzvah Club will start September 1st. Our first Club meeting will be Mid-September or early October.
